On Thursday، Saudi Arabia's King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) distributed 12،198 tons of food parcels to impoverished families in Yemen.

Food aid has benefited 798 people in the war-torn city of Marib، Saudi Press agency SPA reported.

Meanwhile، KSRelief launched a relief project aimed at distributing $3 million worth of food to flood-affected communities and vulnerable families in Afghanistan in 2022-2023.

In cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation، the aid center has distributed 550 food parcels to 550 families in the Afghan Red Crescent Society in Kabul province since the project started.

The conflict in Yemen has brought the country to the brink of famine and created one of the world's worst humanitarian disasters.

The war began in 2014 when Iran-backed Houthi rebels swept from the mountains and captured northern Yemen and the capital Sanaa.

The Yemeni war has killed in excess of 150،000 people according to the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project.
