EU, US welcome formation of a new leadership in Yemen‏‏

The European Union and the United States have welcomed formation of a Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen.

In a statement, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said US supports the aspirations of Yemeni people in establishing an effective, democratic and transparent government.

In another statement, Spokeperson of EU External Affairs and Security Policy, Peter Stano appreciated the role the GCC has played for convening intra-Yemeni talks in support of efforts of UN envoy Hans Grundberg which led to this development.
