The Houthi movement that controls most of northern Yemen has hijacked a United Arab Emirates-flagged cargo vessel off the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, the Saudi-led coalition revealed on Monday, according to the Al Arabiya television news channel.

Yemen has been convulsed by war since 2014, when the Iran-backed Houthi rebels took control of the capital of Sanaa and much of the northern part of the country, forcing the internationally recognized government to move to the south, then to Saudi Arabia.
