The Saudi air defenses have intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile and three drones launched by the Houthi militia in Yemen towards the kingdom's southern region. The Arab Parliament and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the attacks.

The Arab Coalition announced late Saturday that the attempts to target civilian objects and civilians were repelled and destroyed. It added that three drones launched towards the southern region have been also intercepted and destroyed, including one drone that was headed to Khamis Mushait.

The Arab Parliament denounced in a statement on Sunday the Houthi drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s southern region, and reaffirmed its full support and solidarity with the Kingdom against anything that targets its security and stability.

The legislative body of the Arab League described the Houthi militia as a “terrorist organization operated from Tehran to implement a policy of spreading chaos and terror in the region and the world.”

Yousef Al-Othaimeen, secretary general of the OIC, expressed his strong condemnation to the attempt by the terrorist Houthi militia to target innocent civilians in Saudi Arabia.

He also praised the Saudi Air Defense Forces, which were able to intercept and destroy the drones.
