Yemeni Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadrami has asserted that Yemen went to the UN headquarters in New York carrying a message of peace against Iranian plots, Asharq Al-Awsat reported.

Hadrami stated, in an audio addressing world leaders and the international community on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings, that Yemen is unfortunately suffering.

However, he stressed that all foreign agendas will be thwarted. The Yemenis love peace, have solid roots in history and are the pride of Arabs but they have been suffering for five years because of a Houthi-endorsed Iranian plot.

Yemenis will not yield to the Iranian expansion plot, Hadrami added.

The FM commended Saudi Arabia’s bold and firm stance to salvage Yemen and its people from the Iranian pressure that is exerted by its proxy Houthi militias and urged world leaders and the UN not to disregard his country’s suffering, calling on the leaders to back Yemen and its people through all the support they can provide.

Hadrami heads the Yemeni delegation to the General Assembly, where he would brief the international community on the latest developments in Yemen and the repercussions of the Houthi coup in addition to the country’s growing economic difficulties.
