The death of an Emirati soldier from his wounds in Yemen

An Emirati soldier was killed while serving in Yemen, the UAE Armed Forces said on Monday.

First Sergeant Naser Gharib Al Mazrouei died after sustaining serious wounds in the line of duty, according to state news agency Wam.

“The General Command of the Armed Forces extended its condolences to the relatives of the martyr and hero, praying to Allah to rest his soul in eternal peace,” it added.

The UAE is a member of a Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen against the Iran-allied Houthi group in Yemen. The offensive, which was launched in 2015, was to restore the internationaly recognised government of Yemen.
