The Houthis refused to leave the former President Ali Abdullah Saleh to travel for treatment, fearing that Saleh would escape without return.

Adel Alyafeii, TV broadcaster, said on tweets on his account that Houthis refused Aafash's travel for treatment.

The broadcaster told Saleh that it's become hard to escape from Sanaa and he should endure the results of his alliance with Houthis.

The Houthi-Saleh coup alliance has seen a crackdown over the past few days, culminating in clashes between gunmen and supporters of Saleh's son in Sanaa.
