Emirates Red Crescent distributed food baskets in Hadramaut in Yemen on Monday, according to The National .

The aid was given to residents with disabilities and low-income families in the Brom Mayfa district.

Mohammed Al Muhairi, head of the ERC team, said they will continue their relief operations there to help improve the lives of Yemeni citizens and reduce their suffering.

“The process of distributing food baskets is an extension of the ERC's ongoing rescue operations, aimed at reducing the burden on families living under harsh economic conditions in Yemen” said Mr Al Muhairi.

Director-general of the Brom Mayfa District, Col Nasser Al Shuaibi, praised the ERC’s role in improving essential services in the district as well as the work of its rescue convoys for the people of Hadramaut.

“The food aid, which was distributed today, has gained special importance among hundreds of poor and vulnerable individuals who cannot provide for the daily needs of their families as a result of the lack of opportunities to earn an income, due to the worsening living and humanitarian conditions in their country” said Mr Al Shuaibi.
