Yemen's Houthis targets eastern neighborhoods of Taiz with heavy artillery and mortars‏

Heavy explosions rocked eastern neighborhoods of the city of Taiz , south Yemen, on Saturday.

Local sources said the explosions were caused by bombardments by al-Houthi militia and ousted president Saleh forces based in al-Sallal and Sofitel Tepe .

The shelling was random, as mortar and artillery fell in a number of streets and neighborhoods east of Taiz, the sources added .
 
The sources pointed out that the bombing raised terror among the residents of those neighborhoods.

Till now, no information has been available on the damage and losses caused by the shelling.

Hundreds of civilians have been killed in the Houthi random shelling of various parts of the city over the past months.
