Matisse confirms involvement of Iran in an attempt to assassinate al-Jubeir in Washington‏

US Defense Secretary James Matisse confirmed that Iran is involved in the attempt to assassination of the Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir when he was an ambassador for Saudi Arabia in Washington .

"Iran's intervention in everything that is happening in the region and Tehran's direct stand behind the failed assassination attempt on Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir when he was ambassador to Saudi Arabia in Washington," Matisse said yesterday in a statement to CBS News.

He also pointed out that the American administration has documents and evidence from the US intelligence assert that the assassination of al-Jubeir was planned and not a random incident , adding "  The assassination was signed by the highest levels of the Iranian government. "

"Iran is seeking to destabilize the region, because its regime is revolutionary," Mattis said, pointing to an attempt to assassinate an Arab ambassador a few years ago, a few miles from the White House, referring to the attempted assassination of Adel al-Jubeir in Washington.

Mattis asserted that Iran has planned to several operations in Washington , including assassinations of ambassadors and officials .

In all the crisis in the Middle East , Lebanon , Syria , Iraq  and Yemen , there is Iran and its Revolutionary Guards which stands behind all the violence, and the Iranian people are far from this.

He added that the Iranian regime is interested in making revolutions everywhere and does not care about the Iranian people.
