The United States is considering a draft resolution on imposing sanctions on countries financing terrorism, particularly the State of Qatar, according to what Vice President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the American Parliament Ed Ruiz said.

"Qatar is clearly involved in the financing of terrorism and with the support of many terrorist organizations, and there are extremist clerics living in Qatar," he said during a seminar in Washington organized by the American Foundation for the Defense of Democracies under the title "Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood".

He pointed out that the State of Qatar provides material support to terrorists, adding, "If Qataris didn't get the message, which says they are not going in the right direction, here we categorize Qatar as a state sponsor of terrorism."

Ed Rois stressed that Congress is continuing with legislation addressing those states that have not fulfilled their commitments to change the behavior of supporting organizations.
