Emirati soldier martyred in Yemen‏

The Armed Forces has announced the death of a serviceman who was participating in Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.

Hassan Abdullah Al Bishir was martyred while participating in Saudi-led coalition, reported Wam, the state news agency.

Al Bishir, 25, is survived by his parents. He had three brothers, Hussein, Ismail and Mohammed.

"He has been in the service for about five years now. He was athletic, ambitious, full of life and a great person," said cousin Abdullah Al Bishir, 35.

According to The National,the serviceman lived with his family in Al Dhait in Ras Al Khaimah.

"He was considering settling down and getting married," his cousin said. "His family, friends and everyone in our neighbourhood are shocked to hear of his martyrdom."

"His sacrifice is a badge of honour for his family and will be forever remembered."

The General Command extended its sincere condolences to the soldier’s family and prayed to Allah for his soul to rest in peace and for his family to find solace.

Further details have not yet been released.

The UAE is among the countries participating in the Arab coalition’s Yemen operation to restore the internationally recognised government led by president Abdrabu Mansur Hadi.
