The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and the Association for Care and Rehabilitation of Blind in Hadramaut, Yemen, signed a contract for completing and fitting the society’s building in Tarim city.

The project is part of the UAE’s humanitarian and relief initiative to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people. The contract was inked by Abdullah Al Masafri, Head of ERC team in Yemen, Aqeel Salem Al Kaf, Chairman of the association, and Abdullah Basabeh, Head of the association branch in Tarim

Al Masafri emphasised the ERC’s commitment to support visually impaired persons as they are an important component of the Yemeni social fabric.

‘’The ERC will provide them with the assistance they needed so as to engage in the development process,’’ he said.

Aqeel Al Kaf thanked the ERC for its assistance in rebuilding and developing Yemen’s public and private institutions.

He also commended the UAE for its massive efforts to restore hope in Yemen after the country plunged into the political and economic crisis that stalled development.
