The control of the city of Mokha on the Red Sea coast is a strong strategic blow came in favor of the Arab coalition, which supports President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, in his war against the Houthis

The Emirati forces played a pivotal role in directing strategy blow to the ousted Saleh and Huothi militias through the control of the city of Mokha, especially because this strategic harbor was the only sea vent for the Houthis stationed in Taiz province,at the center of the country

This has been done thanks to the close collaboration between the forces of the coalition with its various forms, land and sea, and with the air support, in addition to the effective role played by the popular resistance and the legitimate forces, which have gained significant combat experience since the launch of " Restoring Hope Storm " at the end of March 2015

UAE troops also achieved military gains accounted to them in southern Yemen, especially in the cities of Mukalla and Aden after securing their maritime coasts, where the fighting was fierce against the terrorist organizations in the south, in the fornt al-Qaeda, which has been defeated from Mukalla province, which was taken as their stronghold

According to officials in the Arab coalition, the liberalization of Mokha paved the way toward port of Hodeida to the Hadi forces , which consider a complex strategy ,according to observers , due to its proximity to the main strongholds of the Houthis in Saada province north of the country

Emirati aid to Yemen varied between developmental , humanitarian and charitable aid as the emergency humanitarian aid worth 1.829 billion dirhams(US $ 507.3mn) , a 30.5 per cent of the total UAE's aid to Yemen in this period

The UAE's development aid to Yemen distributed on several sectors . 929.73 million dirhams( US$ 253.13mn) have been allocated to support the energy and electricity sector as UAE ensured to pay operating expenses for electric power generation and power supply services

The humanitarian aid included provideing food aid , medical supplies ,ambulances and medical devices, while development aid that has been provided to Yemen during this period worth 4.148 billion dirhams ( US $ 1.129 b )
