Malaysian police chief Khalid Abu Bakar said, Tuesday, that there were 7 people behind the terrorist plot to assassination King Salman and the authorities arrested them in February, including four Yemenis.

The seven detainees were suspects to be affiliated to Daesh and planned to carry out an attack on the Saudi King during his visit to Kuala Lumpur, he said to the reporters.

"We have succeeded in arresting them before they can commit any crime," Abu Bakar added.

Abu Bakar also revealed that the four Yemenis planned to target members from the Saudi royal family during their visit to Malaysia and they were members of a criminal group involved in falsifying passports and drug trafficking.

According to police information, the age of Yemeni detainees range between 26 and 33 years, and they were arrested in the city of Cyber ​​Jaya on February 26 (the day of the arrival of the Saudi king to Kuala Lumpur), in a process to fight terrorism.
