Mikhlafi: Iran provides Houthis in Yemen with drone able to launch RPGs

The Yemeni Foreign Minister ,Abdulmalik Mikhlafi, said that the drone which was destroyed by the Yemen Army in the Western Coast ,days ago, is Iranian plane that able to launch rocket-propelled grenades.

Mikhlafi considered this as a new evidence on Iranian involvement in Yemen.

"The Yemeni government sent a protest to the United Nations, as Iran violated the UN Resolution 2216 which obliges all states not to make a military cooperation with the putschists ," Mikhlafi said to Asharq Al Awsat.

"2017 will be the year of victory and peace and eliminate to the Houthi terrorists group that made the Yemeni people in this cycle and war which we rejected and don't want but we try to make it far from our people ", he said.

The Foreign Minister explained that "the putschists do not want peace and do not have ready for it, peace can not be achieved just because the desire of the Yemeni government and the Arab coalition and the international community , peace will be achieved with the desire of rebels for peace and carrying out its requirements, and from its requirements the commitment of the three references , ready to go with good faith in peace consultations, stop the aggression on the Yemeni people, and their willingness to hand over their arms and withdraw and stop the attacks on our brothers and neighbors in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states, which is not available with Houthis so far. "

About targeting the Saudi frigate by Houthi and Saleh militias in the Red Sea while patrolling in a control on the west coast of Yemen to prevent smuggling, Abdul-Malik al-Mikhlafi said that this targeting reveals that they are not only a danger to the people of Yemen and its neighbors, but also a threat to the whole international navigation by targeting the Saudi frigate in a terrorist action .
