The Pentagon announced killing of a senior official in Yemen's al-Qaeda in an air strike
A senior leader of al Qaeda in Yemen was killed in a U.S. air strike last week , the Pentagon said in a statement on Friday
Al-Qaeda leader Abd al-Ghani al-Rasas was killed in the air strike in a remote area of al Bayda Governorate in Yemen on Sunday , Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said in the statement
According to Cook, "This strike has removed a senior in al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula is considered one of the organization's leaders in the region, and will impede the terrorist operations of the organization in Yemen and the region"
