Houthis and Saleh militias committed more than 17 thousand violation against civilians in Yemen.‏

A report released by the Yemeni Alliance for monitoring the violations of human rights revealed that the ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh's forces and Houthi militia committed more than 17 thousand violations affected civilians in 20 provinces during 2016.

In its periodical "Yemeni observer" the Alliance said that Houthis and Saleh supporters have committed 17 thousand and 128 violation, explaining that abuses varied between murder, injuries and kidnapping, detention and destruction of public and private property.

According to the periodical issued Thursday, the death toll at 2466 dead, 6042 injured , 5092 civilians have been abducted and arrested , while 777 public properties and 2751 private properties have been destroyed.

The periodical also pointed to the continuing violations and arrests and abductions of civilians committed by militias in controlled areas, as the number of abducted reached more than five thousand civilians, including twenty women and 118 children. The capital Sanaa topped the list in terms of numbers, where the kidnappings reached 694, followed by the Al-Bayda as kidnapping operations reached to 655 and then Ibb province, the number of kidnappings reached 539.

The Yemeni Alliance for monitoring human rights violations called the international community to implement international resolutions to protect human rights inside the country and make what it takes to protect the rights of civilians, it also urged the Security Council to expedite the application of its decisions about Yemen, in particular resolution 2216, and to commit militia al-Houthi and Saleh forces to halt such violations and a commitment to international legitimacy relevant resolutions.
