UN Secretary-General Ban Ki -moon on Wednesday , asked the Iranian President Hassan Rohani to work to facilitate the resumption of peace talks on both the Syrian and Yemeni crises.

In the statement issued by a spokesman for Secretary General Istvan Dogrec after the meeting, which brought together UN Secretary General with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly stressed the importance of finding a political solution to the conflict in Yemen and Syria.

According to tbe statement , Ban Ki-moon stressed during his meeting with Rohani on the importance of finding a political solution to the conflict in Yemen and Syria and he sought to mobilize Iranian support to facilitate the resumption of peace talks in the two countries, without reference to the Iranian president 's position on these demands.

On the Yemeni crisis, Ban Ki- moon said the rebels need to sit down at the negotiating table in a spirit of realism and compromise and urged Iran to encourage them in this regard.

Iran is supporting the Houthi militias in international situations as well as providing them with weapons that are smuggled into Yemen. The internationalist demand considered a recognition from the United Nations about the Iranian intervention in Yemen.
