The Houthi rebel outfit refused the truce plan suggested by the United States special representative for Yemen.

Saudi-run Al Arabiya TV website said earlier in a report on Friday that the U.S. special representative for Yemen Timothy Lenderking has proposed a truce plan to the Houthis to put an end to the Yemeni civil battle of over six years and was awaiting an answer from the outfit.

Following his assembly with Saudi and UN officials in Riyadh on a truce, Lenderking convened with the Houthis negotiation team headed by Mohammed Abdulsalam in Oman in February.
