COVID-19 cases in Yemen up to 12‏

Yemen's health authorities on Monday confirmed two new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the country to 12.

 

According to a brief statement released by the country's supreme national emergency committee for COVID-19, "two new coronavirus cases were recorded in the southeastern province of Hadramout."

 

The latest confirmation brought the number of COVID-19 cases recorded in different provinces of the country including Aden, Taiz and Hadramout to 12, with two deaths.

 

On Saturday, the World Health Organization (WHO) said, after five years of war, Yemen's health system is fragile and facing catastrophic shortages. COVID-19 supplies in the country are grossly insufficient.

 

On April 10, Yemen's pro-government authorities recorded the first case of COVID-19 in the southeastern province of Hadramout.
