On Sunday, two Yemenis were killed as a result of a blast caused by a landmine hit a motorcycle in Yemen's Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, a military official informed Xinhua.

The local military official stated on condition of secrecy, "One of the landmines laid previously by Houthis near the residential areas exploded and killed two innocent citizens in Durayhmi district of Hodeidah".

The source emphasized that the blast took place when the two murdered were driving their motorcycle and were on their way to the public market.

The military official added that a number of explosives experts were sent to the bombing location and began a search operation to thwart Houthi-laid landmines and bombs in the area.
